Laser Dyes & Fluorescent Dyes
A laser dye is a special coloring substance. This dye is used inside a laser to create the laser light.
Fluorescent dyes are like tiny light bulbs that glow when you shine a certain light on them. They don’t glow in the same color of light you shine on them; it’s a little different. Scientists can stick these glowing dyes onto tiny parts of living things, like PCR primers. This helps them see and find those tiny parts.
