המכשיר אידיאלי לניטור רציף של מצב הפלט של אולטרה סגול. חיישן אולטרה סגול קולט ומציג את הקרניים האולטרה סגולות שהעין אינה מסוגלת לקלוט. זהו מכשיר המשמש לניטור רציף של עוצמת האור האולטרה סגול. מכיוון שמשתמשים בחיישן זה בזכוכית ההמרה של אורך גל אולטרה סגול לנראה, האמינות שלו גבוהה, והוא מהווה מכשיר חיישן אופטימלי לבדיקת קו בתהליך הייצור. החיישן מאפשר לזהות את ההיחלשות של מנורת האולטרה סגול ומונע כישלון התאורה

1. Silicon (Si) Photodiode Power Sensors
This is one of the most common types of optical power sensors. Silicon photodiodes are highly sensitive in the visible and near-infrared (NIR) spectrum (400 nm to 1100 nm). They are in top demand for general-purpose light measurement, telecommunications (at 850 nm), and laser power measurement for low to moderate power lasers.
2. Germanium (Ge) Photodiode Power Sensors
Germanium photodiodes are a popular alternative for measuring light in the NIR and short-wave infrared (SWIR) range (800 nm to 1600 nm). While less sensitive than InGaAs detectors at these wavelengths, they are in top demand for their lower cost and use in telecommunications at 1300 nm and 1550 nm.
3. Indium Gallium Arsenide (InGaAs) Power Sensors
InGaAs detectors are the gold standard for high-performance measurement in the SWIR range (900 nm to 1700 nm). They are in top demand for fiber optic telecommunications, LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), and thermal imaging, where their high sensitivity and low noise are critical.
4. Thermopile Laser Power Sensors
Unlike photodiodes, a thermopile measures light by converting absorbed light energy into heat. This makes them spectrally flat and able to handle a very wide range of powers, from milliwatts to kilowatts. They are in top demand for high-power laser measurement and industrial applications like laser cutting and welding.
5. Pyroelectric Energy Meters
These sensors are designed to measure the energy of pulsed lasers, not continuous power. They are in high demand in research and industrial settings that use pulsed lasers, such as for materials processing or scientific experiments.
6. Integrating Spheres
An integrating sphere is a specialized accessory that can be combined with a power sensor. It has a hollow, coated interior that reflects light multiple times, allowing for the measurement of highly divergent or non-uniform light sources. Integrating spheres are in top demand for measuring the total flux of LEDs and other complex light sources.
7. Spectrometers
A spectrometer is a more sophisticated instrument than a simple power sensor. It measures the intensity of light as a function of wavelength, providing a complete spectral profile. While not a direct power sensor, it is a similar product in top demand for its ability to analyze the color and spectral content of light sources.
8. Lux Meters and Photometers
These meters are designed to measure light as perceived by the human eye. A lux meter measures illuminance (light falling on a surface), while a photometer measures luminous intensity. They are in high demand for applications like photography, lighting design, and industrial safety where a response tailored to human vision is needed.
9. Single-Photon Detectors (SPDs)
These highly sensitive detectors are capable of detecting individual photons. SPDs are in top demand for cutting-edge applications in quantum computing, single-molecule fluorescence, and high-precision LiDAR, where the lowest possible light levels must be measured.
10. CMOS and CCD Sensors
These are the image sensors used in digital cameras, and they are a type of light sensor. While not typically used for power measurement, they are in high demand for their ability to measure light in a spatial array, making them a cornerstone of machine vision, microscopy, and scientific imaging.
